Candle safety tips:
BEFORE BURNING:
Remove all packaging and place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
Make sure to place the candle at least 10 cm away from other candles and objects, away from heat sources, drafts, and in a well-ventilated room.
If you've used the candle before, ensure that the wick is trimmed to the recommended length (see the post-burning instructions below).
DURING BURNING:
Never leave a candle unattended and always ensure it stands upright.
Keep candles away from children and pets.
Avoid touching the hot wax during and after burning. If it comes in contact with your skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation occurs, consult a doctor.
When nearing the end of the candle, pay extra attention as not only the glass sides but also the base can get extremely hot! If the base overheats, the wick's anchor might loosen and possibly shift towards the glass side. If not noticed in time, the uneven heat distribution might cause the glass to crack! Try not to burn the candle all the way down; leave about 1 cm of wax at the bottom.
Do not touch the glass while the candle is burning.
For optimal burning, burn the candle for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 hours each time. This allows the wax to melt fully and prevents tunneling.
Never burn a candle for more than 4 consecutive hours. If you do, the wax can become too hot, and the glass may crack.
Stop burning the candle if only 10 mm of wax remains, and monitor the burning candle when the wax level is this low.
AFTER BURNING:
After each burn, let the wax and the glass cool for at least two hours before relighting.
Trim the candle's wick to about 5 mm before every burn with scissors or a wick trimmer. A long or crooked wick can cause uneven burning and smoking. Ensure the wick does not fray.
Once you've used up the candle, you can clean and reuse the glass for various purposes around the household.
